Tambika’s Treehouse

Lightglider! It’s Tambika, and I need your help! My Treehouse was just attacked and it’s covered in blight! Can you help me restore it all? 

Luckily, I had stored a ton of RES orbs before the attack. Just open up some of the safe areas to recharge your RES! Help rescue the Gliddles and relocate them to a safer Treehouse while we restore mine!

Role Models

Hey Lightgliders!

I get the distinct privilege of introducing our new series. We will be talking about Role Models and the positive character qualities that they possess.

‍

Now I know what you’re thinking. “Isn’t a role model just really good-looking bread?” And to that I say, “No, that’s a roll model.”  Wow, I just got really hungry.  

‍

A role model is someone you can look up to! He or she serves as an example to you for how to live, how to treat people, and how to grow in your faith. I can’t tell you how important it is to have good role models!  One of my first role models ever was Marlon, who hangs out in the Academy Library.  Marlon cares about me and shows me what it looks like to walk with God. Who are some of your role models? It could be a parent, an older sibling, a teacher, a coach, or perhaps a leader in your church. I encourage you to find someone you look up to, watch how they live their lives, and ask them lots of questions. And remember to listen to their answers!

Blighted Institute

Hello again! It’s Tambika, and I have a tricky mission for you. We’ve found a major source of blight in the Yonders: some kind of old abandoned Institute. It’s full of empty classrooms, broken tech, and lots and lots of blight! We need you to go in there and clear out all the blight!

Have you been collecting the Lilies that grow in the Yonders? Not only are they pretty, but they somehow grow without being harmed by the blight! Please bring back some of these Lilies for research. Every mission has 10 Lilies growing in them. Can you find them all?

We’ve found some sort of locked door that only opens with coins. I wonder who put this kind of toll entrance there? What treasures are behind that door? Will you spend the coins to open the door? The choice is yours!

KINDNESS

‍

This is the last week of our Unit on The Lightglider Mission. As we are on a mission to SHOW God’s love, this week we’re talking about KINDNESS, which is an attribute of God that we can reflect. So, we don’t just want to talk about kindness this week, we want to show it! To be kind means to be friendly, generous, and considerate. Our theme verse this week is Colossians 3:12 (NLT): “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” 

‍

This verse tells us to clothe ourselves with lots of different character qualities. Have you ever thought about that? You can choose to put qualities like kindness on like you put on your clothes in the morning. Just like we pick out which shirt or pair of shoes we are going to wear, we can choose to be kind, humble, gentle, and patient throughout our day. Clothing ourselves with kindness is a powerful way to show God’s character to the world around us. The Bible also tells us in Romans 2:4 that God’s kindness is what leads us to turn to Him in the first place. So pick up kindness and put it on like a jacket. Wear it everywhere you go!

Waterfall Meadow

Hi, Lightglider! My name is Tambika, and I handle administration here at Lightglider Academy. I’m ready to send you on your first official mission: going to Waterfall Meadow! You’ll learn the basics of gliding, battling, and rescuing there. Here’s a couple of tips to help you out: 

‍

1. Use your mouse to glide around. Remember to keep your cursor on the game screen at all times to maximize your movements!
2. When rescuing Gliddles, you can carry up to five at a time. To rescue more Gliddles, drop the ones you have off at a Zipway to send them back to the Academy, and then go find more Gliddles!

3. Remember to keep your distance when battling Machines! Stay close enough so that your defense system will activate, but far enough away so that you can dodge Machine attacks!

There are plenty of treasures and secrets in the Yonders. Keep your eyes peeled for things that don’t seem to belong in their surroundings! Hope to see you back in the Courtyard soon!

REFLECTION

‍

Hey Lightgliders!

‍

Our lives operate at a fast pace. We wake up, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, do homework, eat dinner, go to bed, and often repeat it all the next day. If we’re not careful, our schedules and routines can quickly control our entire lives. 

‍

In this week’s theme verse, Psalm 46:10, God is telling us to be still before Him. Why? Because slowing down and being still allows a couple of things to happen. First, we have the opportunity to remember all that God has done for us. Second, we are reminded that He is in control and not us! Being still before God and taking time to reflect on His goodness is good for our soul. God knows this! Sometimes He will even speak to your heart when you are still before Him. My prayer is that you hear Him whisper how much He loves you because He really does!

Machine Bunker

Hey there! My name’s Bryce, and I’m the head of missions here at Lightglider Academy. I love to save Gliddles from the Machines, so my mission for you is to take on the Machines where it’ll hurt them most! We’ve discovered the location of a Machine Bunker, where Machines are made and sent out into the Yonders. We need to shut this factory down! 

There are lots of Machines in there, so stay alert! Remember, your defense systems can fire automatically, so concentrate on dodging enemy attacks while you battle Machines. Some Machines are programmed to guard doors and hallways. They have lots of armor, but they’re very slow. Stop at a safe distance and you’ll whittle them down!

Go get ‘em!  I’ll be rooting for you!

Hey Lightgliders!

As we continue to look at ways to know, grow in, and show God’s love, the theme this week is PRAYER. Prayer simply means talking with God. It helps us to GROW in God’s love! The primary goal of prayer is intimacy with the One who made us! God loves when we talk with Him about our lives, thank Him for the good things He has given us, and ask Him for help. Prayer doesn’t have to be long and full of big words for it to matter. Prayer is telling God what is on your heart, and listening for what is on His. Our theme verse this week tells us to always be praying.

In Lightglider Academy, we go on rescue missions into the Yonders every day. But at Easter, we are reminded of the greatest rescue mission of all time. Even before the world was created, God had a plan to rescue us from our sin and brokenness. That plan was and is Jesus. At the cross, Jesus gave up His life knowing that only His blood could pay the penalty of our sins. And on Easter Sunday, God raised Jesus back to life. He is alive! This is what we celebrate at Easter. Jesus has crushed sin and death, and offers us abundant and eternal life through Him.

It’s Tambika, calling on you again to take on a new mission! We’re sending you into the Grasslands, a sprawling area that’s filled with blight and Machines. Keep your wits about you and be on the lookout for secret areas! And check out that cool speedboat in the water; who do you think brought that to the Grassland?

We’ve picked up several hidden areas with our sensors. Look for these around fences, grates, and doors and you might find a ton of treasures!

It’s Kwan again! I wanted to give you some tips for taking on this mission. We’re sending you back into the abandoned building where lots of Machines have taken up residence. There’s a defense jammer installed there, so if you don’t have a Gliddle with you, you won’t be able to battle Machines! THE BIBLE

Hey Lightgliders!

We’re kicking off a new unit this week on the Lightgliders Mission: to KNOW, GROW in, and SHOW God’s love. And this first week we are talking about the Bible! It’s a big book that has a lot of meaning. Some see it as an intimidating book that is hard to understand. Some see it as an old book meant for an older time. Do not let these opinions stop you from reading it! The Bible reveals the most important story we could ever know - the true story of God’s love for us. God has made Himself known through the pages of the Bible and we have the opportunity to get to know Him every time we read it! Not a word is wasted in the pages of the Bible. All of it points to our good, loving God who created, redeems, and restores His people. Though some of the stories can be hard to understand, the Bible begins to become more clear as we continue to read it, ask questions, and grow in our understanding. We can pray and ask God for wisdom when we open up our Bibles. We can ask those that are older and wiser to read the Bible with us and help us understand! Engaging with the Bible isn’t a one-time thing. We can read it for a lifetime and gain more knowledge, understanding, and wisdom with each time we open it up!

Timberlands Approach

Hey, it’s Bryce! Are you ready to take on the Machines once again? We’re sending you to the Timberlands Approach, an area infested with Machines! Rescue the Gliddles there and get ready to battle!

Watch out for Machine attacks, especially from the blue Machines! Their blasts are very powerful. If you get hit too much, you’ll lose a chunk of armor and have to start back at the last checkpoint!

Be careful out there, and remember to keep an eye out for secret grates!

Love

Hey Lightgliders! 

‍

As Lightgliders, we seek to respect others, rescue Gliddles, and restore the land of Glideon! Hopefully, you know that by now. But do you know why we do these things? Because we value love here. Love motivates each of these goals. We want it to motivate everything we do in life. That’s why it is one of our core values. When we love, we put the needs of others ahead of our own. Unfortunately, our selfishness will continue to try to rule our thoughts and motivations, so we need to be continually reminded to love. The best reminder for me to love is to remember what Jesus did on the cross. He did that for me. And because He chose to love me when I didn’t deserve it, I remember to be grateful and am motivated to love others.

What does it look like to love the people in your life?  Do you offer words of encouragement? Do you serve, give gifts, write notes, smile, hug, share, or listen? There are lots of ways to love others. Love energizes any atmosphere.

Ring of Fire

Hey, it’s Tambika! If you’ve completed all of the missions I’ve given you, I’ll give you some of my secret missions. It’s time to thank you for being such a great Lightglider! The first bonus mission is Ring of Fire. We’ve received info that there is Machine activity in the Volcano area, and we need you to help scout it out! Watch out, though--there could be a trap!

When Machines are destroyed, they sometimes leave behind Materials and Gliddles they’ve stolen from the Yonders! The Gliddles will wait for you to rescue them, but the Materials will disappear after a short time. Once you’ve defeated a Machine, try to get to their rewards quickly! Clear blight, defeat other nearby Machines, and solve puzzles to get to Materials fast!

Make sure you have a strategy to battle the Machines. Try to target Machines that are on their own first, and work in one direction at a time. You’ll maximize your Materials and minimize your bruises!

Hope

Hey Lightgliders! 

This week our theme is hope. It’s a small word with a big impact. To live with hope means to look to the future with the expectation that good things are coming.  

This is tough to do sometimes, especially if things around us are tough. But, with our faith in Jesus, we always have a reason to live with hope. God promises eternal life and a fully restored world in which we’ll live. He will make everything right again some day. The future is secure. Therefore, we always have a reason to hope!

And, trust me on this, hope is invigorating. It is electrifying. It is powerful! When we live with hope, we will share it with others. And, like a spark, the fire of hope spreads and the future begins to look brighter and brighter to those around you. Think of the Gliddles in the Yonders. Just knowing that Lightgliders are out there gives them hope that the future will be bright. This is the power of hope. 

I try to wake up each day with hope--with the expectation that the day will be new, exciting, and meaningful. I'm telling you, living with hope makes a difference!

Hi there! My name’s Kwan, and I handle technology at the Academy. I have a mission for you that requires some quick thinking! The Entryway to some sort of abandoned building has a ton of special switches and secrets, so explore every nook and cranny of this level! Rumor has it that there’s also some sort of giant Machine somewhere on the Entryway grounds!

Can you get into the first room of the building? There’s some sort of special switch that you have to find and press… maybe it’s in a hard-to-reach area? Or maybe it’s hidden in plain sight? You’ll have to go to find out!

Confidence

Hey Lightgliders! 

We’re talking about the Lightglider value of confidence this week. Confidence comes from a strong belief that you are known and loved. You can live with confidence because of how much God knows and loves you! But how can we be so sure of this? Because of the cross! God sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay for our sins and to purchase back our lives. Do you realize what this means? It means that you never have to question your value, no matter what anyone says or thinks about you. God knows you and loves you more than anyone else ever has or will. And the cross is the proof. 

Never forget how valuable you are! You always have a reason to be confident because of what Jesus did for you. Your confidence should not come from your abilities, your friends, or your moral performance. These things are not dependable. No, our confidence comes from God's immeasurable love for us, which was showcased through Jesus at the cross! When we understand that our confidence can be anchored upon the unchanging rock of God's love, we will walk with the courage and boldness necessary to shine light in dark places, to stand up for what is right, and to repent when we make mistakes.
