Blighted Grassland

It’s Tambika, calling on you again to take on a new mission! We’re sending you into the Grasslands, a sprawling area that’s filled with blight and Machines. Keep your wits about you and be on the lookout for secret areas! And check out that cool speedboat in the water; who do you think brought that to the Grassland?

We’ve picked up several hidden areas with our sensors. Look for these around fences, grates, and doors and you might find a ton of treasures!

Blighted Institute

Hello again! It’s Tambika, and I have a tricky mission for you. We’ve found a major source of blight in the Yonders: some kind of old abandoned Institute. It’s full of empty classrooms, broken tech, and lots and lots of blight! We need you to go in there and clear out all the blight!

Have you been collecting the Lilies that grow in the Yonders? Not only are they pretty, but they somehow grow without being harmed by the blight! Please bring back some of these Lilies for research. Every mission has 10 Lilies growing in them. Can you find them all?

We’ve found some sort of locked door that only opens with coins. I wonder who put this kind of toll entrance there? What treasures are behind that door? Will you spend the coins to open the door? The choice is yours!

Hey Lightgliders!

‍

If you are new around here, we - the other Lightglider leaders and me - want you to know that you were MADE TO SHINE! That is something you will hear a lot here because we must believe this and be reminded of it regularly. Let me tell you what this means.

• God created you uniquely. There is no one in the history of the world like you. No one else has your exact personality, interests, and talents. In other words, you were made. 

• You have opportunities every day to use your uniqueness to love God and to love others in ways that only you can. When you do this, you shine. You bring light into the world. And, if there is one thing you need to know about light, it always defeats darkness.

• When you put these two ideas together, it is easy to see that you were made to shine! 

‍

And this is what we Lightgliders seek to do each day. This can feel like a big responsibility. But, like a candle in a dark tunnel, even the smallest light can be blinding. If you’ve been to Machine Bunker in the Yonders, you know what I mean!

‍

Jesus is the true light of the world. As we follow Him, we will reflect Him and will shine like stars in the heavens. Let’s reflect His love and light everywhere we go this year!

Hi! My name is Tambika and I'm here to guide you first-timers around Lightglider Academy! Remember playing the tutorial? In it, you used your mouse or tapped the screen to glide around. In Lightglider Academy, it's no different!

But why are you here? You were chosen as a Lightglider and transported here to help us RESPECT, RESCUE, and RESTORE. Lightglider Academy needs to be fortified and we need your help. The land outside of the Academy is called the Yonders and it is full of danger! Scary Machines roam the land seeking to kidnap the native creatures called the Gliddles, and blight is spreading all over the land of Glideon.

But you can help!

By battling these Machines and looking for those lost, we can RESCUE the kidnapped Gliddles and RESTORE the land!

‍

While you go on missions, watch videos, and play games, you will be earning light! As you earn more light, you level up, and you will have more access to rewards and challenges here in Lightglider Academy. Have fun hanging out with friends, playing games, and exploring!

Hey Lightglider! I'm Bryce! Have you gone on a mission to the Yonders yet? Each one is filled with purposeful adventure! You will rescue Gliddles, battle Machines, clear the blight, protect the Academy, and restore the land of Glideon. Also, be on the lookout for our beloved Professor Watts. He founded Lightglider Academy, but mysteriously disappeared.

I want to equip you today to battle the Machines and rescue the Gliddles. Your armor is equipped with automatic defenses, which allow you to battle the Machines that you encounter on your missions to the Yonders!

Have you explored what’s going on This Week?

Every week the Lightgliders community focuses on a specific theme designed to help us grow and shine! Throughout the year you’ll learn about things like Joy, Creation, Purpose, The Bible, The Far Greater Story, and much more!

‍

When you login to Lightgliders, you should see three options on the right side of your screen. The top option is This Week. This is where you’ll find everything you need related to the weekly theme. This includes the weekly message from a Lightglider leader discussing the theme and Bible memory verse, the Spark and Prayer videos related to the theme, and your Lightglider Journal, where you can record all that you’re learning, thinking, and feeling. In addition, you will most likely see the Game of the Week where you can compete to be on the leaderboard and receive a prize as well as the Spotlight Blog highlighting specific Lightgliders for the ways they shine.

You can also find all of this information with the Orange and Blue Gliddles in the Courtyard, holding some newspapers near the fountain!

Have you explored all there is to do in Faith & Fun?

When you login to Lightgliders there are three options on the right side of your screen - This Week, Lightglider Academy, and Faith & Fun.

‍

Faith & Fun is where lots of, well, faith and fun can be found! When you click on the Faith & Fun button, you’ll be taken to TONS of games, videos, sticker pages, and transmissions! They’re broken down into categories, so you can choose which ones interest you the most!

‍

You’ll notice there are different colors, so here’s what they all mean:

• Everything in PURPLE is a game. Every game’s thumbnail has a key that gives you more information about the game. For example…some text

You’ll see a difficulty bar ranging from beginner to expert.

If you see one blue person icon, that means it is a single player game…just for you to play!

If you see a green world icon, it is an online multiplayer game, so you can play with others logged into Lightgliders.

If you see a two green person icon, that means it is a local multiplayer game, so grab someone around you and play!

• Everything in RED is a transmission from a Lightglider leader to help you learn your way around Lightgliders.

• Everything in BLUE is a Lightgliders Television video, otherwise known as LGTV, where you can watch Academy gameplay, tutorials, and Bible WHAT’s with Marlon!

• Everything in GREEN is a Spark, where you can learn more about different topics we talk about in Lightgliders and spark conversations with those around you.

• Everything in ORANGE is a prayer you can do on your own or with a family member.

• Everything in PINK is a sticker page that you can customize and send to your friends!

Take some time to explore Faith & Fun to encourage your faith and have some fun!

Hi friend! I’m Nisha. Thank you for being here. You have joined a large community of unique and special people. And you will make a major impact as a Lightglider. One way you do this is by building and decorating a treehouse where rescued Gliddles can live. Just outside the Academy campus are beautiful trees. Go there by clicking on your map and clicking Treehouse. You can decorate your very own treehouse with decorations you've bought. To decorate, drag and drop decorations from your inventory. You can purchase more decorations at Tree Mart in Lightglider Academy. Click on the map to find Tree Mart. Watch the tutorial below to learn more.

Once you've finished decorating your treehouse, you can check out other Lightgliders' treehouses! Just click on them and select "View Treehouse." Then you can see how they decorated their treehouses and maybe get inspired for yours! You can also visit your friends list to view their treehouses!

I can't wait to see what you do with the treehouse you've been given to steward! The Gliddles are going to love it!

In honor of being unique, I want to tell you that you can change your outfits in Lightgliders at a moment's notice. If you are in the Academy just click on your profile picture to change outfits, hats, gliders, and even your look.

Also, if you ever receive a mystery code, you'll want to enter it into your Academy profile to get a helpful prize. You may want to ask your parent or group leader if any new mystery codes have been sent out this week. They'll find them in our weekly emails. Also, for every month that you're a Lightglider, you receive a special glider! Ask your parent or group leader for the code that comes in the monthly milestone emails!

In Glider Gear you can buy new outfits and gift new items to friends. As you earn light and collect gold on your missions and adventures, you will be able to buy the outfits you want. Professor Watts realized there were too many kidnapped Gliddles and too much blight for him to rescue and restore all by himself, so he decided to start the Academy and train up Lightgliders to help him out. We seven Lightglider leaders, Bryce, Tambika, Kwan, Santiago, Nisha, Tova, and I, were among the first ones trained! After Lightglider Academy was established, Professor Watts left for a secret mission but never returned. It's up to us to find him and bring him home!

In Lightgliders you will also encounter the Far Greater Story. This is the story of God's love for you revealed in the Bible. God's love is something to know, grow in, and show each and every day.

We want you to know this story, to talk about it with your family and friends, and to understand how it affects your life and decisions. That is why there is a new theme and Bible verse each week to learn about and discuss.

Keep Out!

It’s Kwan again! I wanted to give you some tips for taking on this mission. We’re sending you back into the abandoned building where lots of Machines have taken up residence. There’s a defense jammer installed there, so if you don’t have a Gliddle with you, you won’t be able to battle Machines! You have to use your wits and careful gliding to get you out of some sticky situations!

There’s a powerful Machine at the end of the mission. Concentrate on avoiding its blasts and let the Gliddles you find do their work!

Don’t forget to check for secret areas; the overgrowth in the building might have opened up new pathways!

Hey there! Welcome to Lightgliders. My name is Kwan, and it’s my job to make sure you’re outfitted, trained, and ready for action. And that starts with you learning just what a Lightglider is!

Lightgliders are defenders of good, a force made up of individuals just like you that shine in the darkness and help out those in need. Right now, the land of Glideon is in need!

‍

For unknown reasons, a mysterious gooey substance called blight is spreading all over the land. At the same time, strange Machines have appeared and are kidnapping lovable creatures called the Gliddles! It’s up to us to go on missions to clear away the blight and rescue the Gliddles from the Machines!

‍

Being a Lightglider is a purposeful adventure. As you play, you will have opportunities to learn about the greatest adventure there is--to know God and to grow in His love for us.

If you are here in Lightgliders on a computer, click “Enter Lightglider Academy” to access the full Lightgliders experience. You’ll battle Machines, rescue Gliddles, clear blight, meet other Lightgliders, and much more.

Everything in Green is a Spark. These are short video stories that help us learn an important lesson from the Bible.

Everything in Orange is a Prayer. These are short prayer videos to do on your own or with a family member.

Everything in Red is a Message. These are articles about Lightgliders gameplay, the weekly lessons, Bible studies, and more. (Fun fact: You are currently reading one!)

Everything in Blue is LGTV.  These are gameplay videos to encourage fun, learning, and laughter.

In time, you’ll learn more than just skills for battle and adventure. You’ll learn about the Far Greater Story found in the Bible, the story about the God who loves you more than you could possibly imagine.  As Lightgliders, we seek to RESPECT, RESCUE, and RESTORE every day because that is what God has done and is doing for us, in us, and through us.  You were made to use what He has given you to help a world in need.  You were made to shine!

Hi! My name is Tambika and I'm here to guide you first-timers around Lightglider Academy! Remember playing the tutorial? In it, you used your mouse or tapped the screen to glide around. In Lightglider Academy, it's no different!

‍

But why are you here? You were chosen as a Lightglider and transported here to help us RESPECT, RESCUE, and RESTORE. Lightglider Academy needs to be fortified and we need your help. The land outside of the Academy is called the Yonders and it is full of danger! Scary Machines roam the land seeking to kidnap the native creatures called the Gliddles, and blight is spreading all over the land of Glideon.

But you can help!

‍

By battling these Machines and looking for those lost, we can RESCUE the kidnapped Gliddles and RESTORE the land!

‍

While you go on missions, watch videos, and play games, you will be earning light! As you earn more light, you level up, and you will have more access to rewards and challenges here in Lightglider Academy. Have fun hanging out with friends, playing games, and exploring!

If you’re new, you have come to the right place. Congratulations on completing the tutorial and welcome to Glideon, a land filled with purposeful adventures! Glideon is the land in which Lightglider Academy is located. I'm Kwan and it's my job to train rookies on how to play.

Hey Lightgliders!

‍

Have you ever wondered why you do the things that you do? I was recently challenged to stop and consider the motivations behind each of my words and actions. Wow, this was challenging! It’s amazing how many of my daily decisions are motivated by selfishness. Often I choose to do what I want to do. I spend my time how I want to spend it. Sometimes I even do or say nice things just so I can look good to those around me. Sometimes I get annoyed with people and say things out of anger. Every so often I do something out of genuine love and concern for others. And I want that to happen more often!

‍

I am learning that the more I think about God’s’ love for me, the more I am motivated to love others. I really want to do things each day out of a heart that is filled with love. This is what Jesus did. You can read about Him in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. 

‍

I’m not there yet, but I am trying! Pray and ask God to make love the motivation of your heart. And pray this for me too!

Emerald Fields

Hello, I’m Nisha! I serve in a lot of places at Lightglider Academy, but I mostly try to help the other leaders handle the blight problem in the Yonders. And this mission is all about restoring the land! The Emerald Fields in the Yonders are usually so beautiful, but they’ve been taken over by blight. My tip for you is to open up enough room in the blight so that you can dodge Machine attacks. The Emerald Fields are home to many green Gliddles, and to use their power correctly, you’ll have to get up close to Machines! Patience is the key to defeating Machines and clearing blight. Remember, if you run out of RES, come back to Lightglider Academy and give out Boosts to recharge!

I’ve heard that there’s a Machine that’s very hard to get to… Maybe the fences in this area don’t extend the whole way around the Fields?

Hey Lightgliders!

Faith is a word you may hear quite a bit among people who go to church. To have faith means to trust and believe. We all practice faith on a daily basis. If you sit down in a chair, you trust and believe in that chair, that it will hold you up when you sit down! Faith in Jesus is similar. It means that our trust and belief is in Him and what He did for us on the cross. We can live with confidence and joy because our faith is in the only One who can rescue us from sin, evil, and death. And, according to our theme verse this week, the reward for our faith in Jesus is salvation. Jesus saves us from sin and death, and gives us eternal life. This is good news!
