Hey Lightgliders! 

‍

This week we are discussing the Lightglider value of humility. We learned last week about rebellion - how we have all rebelled against God’s commands and have fallen short of His standard for goodness. Even though we are created to shine like stars in the universe, we must understand that we are far from perfect. The sin and selfishness that began in the Garden of Eden carries on today in every human heart. It causes division, brokenness, and strife. Admitting our need for God’s love and forgiveness requires humility. To live with humility means to acknowledge that we are weak. We cannot depend on our own talents, accomplishments, or even our good behavior. These things will fail us and will never be able to make up for our sin. We have to depend on God and His power to save us through Jesus. Only with humble hearts is this even possible. As we live with humility, we are able to take our focus off ourselves, receive God’s love, and truly focus on the needs of others.

When you go on enough Yonders missions, you will be ready for one filled with puzzles. One of these is called “Keep Out!” That’s a good name for it because those who are proud or unwilling to fail should keep out. To complete it, you will need humility. Stay focused on your missions to the Yonders. You will fail at some. You will succeed at some. But, in everything including Yonders missions, stay humble!

Hey Lightglider!

‍

We’ve just spent a few weeks learning about Creation. To understand Creation is to understand that God created everything, and that includes you and me! And because He created us in His image, we have dignity, purpose, and tremendous value. This is the first part of the Far Greater Story of God’s love for us revealed in the Bible. 

‍

The second part of the story is called Rebellion. A rebellion is an open resistance to an authority. As our Creator, God is our authority. To rebel against Him is to disobey His commands. This is called “sin.” We sin when we miss the mark of God’s standard of goodness and love. Whether we sin on purpose or by accident, we are rebelling against God and are violating our purpose. This has happened a lot by me, you, and everyone else. We all have rebelled against God and His goodness. And the Bible tells us that the penalty of this rebellion is death. 

‍

This is why we need to be rescued. The penalty for our rebellion needs to be paid. Our sin needs to be forgiven. Until we understand this, the good news of Jesus will not make sense to us.  

‍

Pray this week for help to recognize the ways in which you have rebelled against God and for the courage to confess them to Him. Then read this week’s theme verse -- I John 1:8-9!

Jasper had two great accomplishments last month! In addition to becoming a Lightgliders Ambassador, Jasper celebrated his 4 year anniversary with Lightgliders and can be seen gliding around the Academy on his BRAND NEW ruby glider! Way to go, Jasper!

Forward Base

In order to stop the spread of blight, Lightglider Academy wants to set up a new base in the Yonders! We need your help to defend it against the oncoming hordes of Machines while upgrading your defenses! Just remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. If at first the base is overrun, just regroup, make some upgrades with the scrap you find from the Machines, and try try again! Persistence is key on this one!

Hey Lightglider!

The last three weeks we have learned about how God is our Creator. Because He created us, we have tremendous purpose. We can know that our lives matter because they do! If God took the time to make us, then we are extremely valuable. We also learned that God created us in His image. Because you are made in the image of a powerful, good, and creative God, you have the ability to be creative yourself. What good things are you inspired to create today?

‍

Think of ways to use your unique gifts to put a smile on other people’s faces. Dream of ways to make an impact. Live with passion. Pursue beauty. Use your imagination. Be inspired. Create art and music. Come up with new ideas and innovations to help the world around you. 

‍

If you go into the Academy this week, use creativity to design an awesome treehouse. Use imagination to encourage others with every postcard you send out. Inspire others to play games together.

Be creative today. In doing so, you will reflect your Creator.

Timberlands Approach

Hey, it’s Bryce! Are you ready to take on the Machines once again? We’re sending you to the Timberlands Approach, an area infested with Machines! Rescue the Gliddles there and get ready to battle!

Watch out for Machine attacks, especially from the blue Machines! Their blasts are very powerful. If you get hit too much, you’ll lose a chunk of armor and have to start back at the last checkpoint!

Be careful out there, and remember to keep an eye out for secret grates!

Hey Lightgliders!

As we continue to learn about being God’s creation, we are taking a look this week at “RESPECT.” Because you bear God’s image, you have dignity and purpose. Therefore, you are worthy of respect. And this is also true of everyone you meet! That’s why the #1 goal of a Lightglider is respect - respect for ourselves and respect for others. We pursue this goal because when you respect yourself and you respect others, you are honoring the One in whose image you were created!

‍

So how do we do that? We show respect in the way we treat others. We seek to care about everyone we meet. We also seek to care for our own minds, hearts, and bodies. 

‍

Whether it’s your best friend or someone you don’t get along with very well, choosing to show respect is what Lightgliders strive to do. So, when you’re in Mission Control, the Track, or the Yonders, look for ways to show respect to the other Lightgliders.

Blighted Institute

Hello again! It’s Tambika, and I have a tricky mission for you. We’ve found a major source of blight in the Yonders: some kind of old abandoned Institute. It’s full of empty classrooms, broken tech, and lots and lots of blight! We need you to go in there and clear out all the blight!

Have you been collecting the Lilies that grow in the Yonders? Not only are they pretty, but they somehow grow without being harmed by the blight! Please bring back some of these Lilies for research. Every mission has 10 Lilies growing in them. Can you find them all?

We’ve found some sort of locked door that only opens with coins. I wonder who put this kind of toll entrance there? What treasures are behind that door? Will you spend the coins to open the door? The choice is yours!

Hi Lightgliders!

Purpose is one of the five core values of a Lightglider. To live with purpose means to live with the belief that your life matters. As Lightgliders, we believe that our lives are both valuable and meaningful. But how do we know this is true? It comes from the truth that God made us in His image. As we learned last week, God created us in His image, so our lives have worth and dignity that no one can take away. If the Creator of the universe took time to create you, then guess what–you are here for a reason! To live with purpose means to live every day with this strong belief.

In Lightglider Academy, we rescue Gliddles, clear the blight, and try to help others any way we can. Look around you. The world is in need and you were uniquely created to make a difference! Each day provides us a new opportunity to live an adventure filled with purpose!

Hover Frenzy

It’s madness on the hoverboard assembly floor! With so many Lightgliders that need new hoverboards, production is trying to keep up! Help keep assembly on track by catching the falling hoverboards and putting them on the conveyor belt before they all fall to the ground. Purple hoverboards are worth more points, so be sure to grab those when you can! Watch out though, you can’t carry too many!

Hello there Lightglider!

Did you know that the Bible begins by telling us that God is the Creator? The very first verse of Genesis tells us this! He created the heavens, the earth, the animals, and human beings. And He called all that He created good. And Genesis 1:27 tells us that God created us in His image. You were made in the image of a good, holy, and loving God.

‍

Do you realize what this means?! It means that our lives matter! It means that our lives are valuable! It means that we are capable of extraordinary things! 

‍

Because you bear God’s image, you have dignity and purpose that is worthy of honor and respect. And, in the same way a mirror reflects your image back to you, you have the opportunity to reflect the image of God to the world. You are a light made to shine!

Waterfall Cavern

Hello again! It’s Tambika, and I’m giving you a new mission in Waterfall Cavern, just underneath Waterfall Meadow. This cave seems to be where a lot of the blight is coming from, so we need to get in there and destroy the blight inside! Click on blight next to you to clear it. You can click and drag on multiple blight patches to restore them quickly! Blight usually covers treasures and Materials in the Yonders. Go ahead and grab them; you can trade them for cool stuff here at the Academy!

Clearing blight uses RES, the yellow bar to the left of your screen. If you run out, don’t worry. Just come back to the Academy and hang out. Your RES will recharge over time, and then you can go back to the mission where you last passed a checkpoint! Be on the lookout for RES orbs in the Yonders as well. Don’t grab the RES orbs if you’re already full on RES, or they’ll be wasted!

Hey Lightglider!

Did you know that the Lightgliders story that you have entered into points to a far greater, far more important story? As you continue to learn about being a Lightglider, you’ll hear that we seek to respect, rescue, and restore. It's time to spotlight some Lightgliders who have been shining brightly in the Academy.  Congratulations to: Faith Fearless Adventurer and Grace Cupcake Superstar! You are in the Spotlight and will receive a Shining Spotlight Glider and RES Head to use this week!

Faith was nominated by one of her fellow Lightgliders for being kind and helpful who said, "She is always willing to listen! She wants to make sure no one feels excluded, and she gives great tours to New Lightgliders! She gives the best advice and reminds people who may not be following a chat rule she gently shows them chat rules and tells them let's not say that please! And she is a great role model!" Bible Code Breaker

Marlon here! Part of my job at Lightglider Academy is to unlock the secrets of the Far Greater Story. You can help me uncover the hidden messages from the Bible by solving the code! My advice is to start small. Figuring out small words like “the,” “and,” “I,” “a,” and “an” will help you on the larger words. Remember, the code is always different from puzzle to puzzle!

Hey Lightgliders!

If you are new around here, we - the other Lightglider leaders and me - want you to know that you were MADE TO SHINE! That is something you will hear a lot around here because we need to be reminded of it regularly. Let me tell you what this means.

• God created you uniquely. There is no one in the history of the world like you. No one else has your exact personality, interests, and talents. In other words, you were made. 

• You have opportunities every day to use your uniqueness to love God and to love others in ways that only you can. When you do this, you shine.

• When you put these two ideas together, it is easy to see that you were made to shine! 

‍

And this is what we Lightgliders seek to do. With a lot of darkness in the world, this can feel like a big responsibility. But like a candle in a dark tunnel, even the smallest light can be blinding. If you’ve been to Machine Bunker in the Yonders, you know what I mean!

Jesus is the true light of the world. He is the light that the darkness can never extinguish. As we follow Him, we will shine like stars in the heavens and make an impact on the world. Let’s reflect His love and light everywhere we go!

Hey there, Lightgliders! I’m Kwan and it’s my job to make sure you’re outfitted, trained, and ready for action. We have learned over the last few months that the Lightglider goals, values, mission, and leaders all seek to point to the Far Greater Story of God's love for us revealed in the Bible. As we grow as Lightgliders, we will shine light in the darkness and point others to the Far Greater Story as well!

This week we are reminding our amazing community just what it means to be a Lightglider! So, whether you are new to Lightgliders or have been in the Academy for a while, I encourage you to pay close attention.  

‍

Lightgliders are defenders of good. We are a team that helps out those in need. And, right now, the land of Glideon needs us! For unknown reasons, a mysterious gooey substance called blight is spreading all over the land. At the same time, strange Machines have appeared and are kidnapping the Gliddles! It’s up to us to go on missions into the Yonders to clear away the blight and to rescue the Gliddles from the Machines!

Being a Lightglider is a purposeful adventure. As you engage in all there is to do in the Academy and throughout the Yonders, you will have opportunities to learn about the greatest adventure there is–to know, grow in, and show God’s love. You were made to shine!

Hey Lightgliders!

We have learned what it looks like to be a role model and to be faithful with how God has uniquely made us. So now we want to look at “impact,” which is the result of your faithfulness.  As you share God’s love with others in ways that only you can, you will have a great impact. God has created you with unique strengths and gifts! And, according to this week’s theme verse, He has planned good things for you to do with your life. These good things will impact the world in a positive way. I hope that as you go on missions, play games, or watch videos in Lightgliders, you discover what you are passionate about, what you are good at, and what gifts others see in you.  And as you continue to KNOW and GROW in God’s love, you will SHOW others that life with Him is an amazing adventure!

Think about the kind of impact you want to have on the world, and ask God to empower you to be and do everything He created you to be and to do.
